35kg lighter, fitter, slimmer and energised!

"In summer 2023, I booked a holiday in the Pakistan mountains. Then I panicked, because I was going to have to do some steep walking and I was desperately unfit and overweight. I had five weeks and I signed up for some intensive work with Luca at John Orwell.

It was hard, but with his instruction and motivation, I did make some progress before departure day.

I’d had a wake up call, and I carried on training with Luca when I got back. I even started to enjoy it. Every few months, we talk about goals and adjust my program. Now that I have confidence with the weights and understand how to structure a session, I can train on my own regularly and I do a session with Luca every 1-2 weeks to keep my technique on point.

I feel much more positive about everything. He’s still tough about pushing for progress and we've had some laughs too.

And in December 2024, I was back in Pakistan; 35kg lighter, fitter, slimmer and energised."

12 months - 60kg down - a completely different life!

Through varied PT sessions each week, combining cardio and weight training tailored to my starting point, I gradually built strength, endurance, and confidence. Even on the days without PT, the guidance and accountability were always there.

This wasn’t just about losing 60kg. It was about rebuilding my health, my mindset, and proving to myself that I’m capable of more than I ever thought."

"I wanted a Personal Trainer as I had a weight loss goal I wanted to achieve before my wedding. I have a few minor physical limitations due to previous sports injuries, but Luca was completely understanding with specialist knowledge to allow us to develop a program together that was achievable.

3 months later / 2 stone lighter. I was absolutely delighted. I felt generally fitter, healthier and stronger, whilst some nagging minor ailments, like stiffness, had also improved.

I've stayed working out with Luca ever since and have maintained my target weight and have built upon the progress we made, occasionally tweaking the program to focus on specific targets and maximise benefits as required, including nutrition advice."

My arms became the most toned they had been in years!

"Over the many years that I have seen various PT’s, Luca is my favourite. After he discusses the physical improvements that you would like to see, he implements and educates you with suitable exercises. This can be a mix of the tried and trusted along with various others that have been new to me, which he seems to have a limitless repertoire of, working any and all muscle groups from shoulders through to calves including abs.

Luca is great company and will encourage you to push yourself but not at the risk of injury. Motivation is also helped as sessions are always interesting.
